Fabric
Panel fabrics may be cleaned with conventional upholstery cleaning systems.
The following are general recommendations:
- Vacuum the fabric periodically to remove accumulated dirt and dust.
- Blot fresh spills immediately.
- Ensure that the fabric is adequately rinsed after cleaning, as residual cleaning agents may accelerate soiling.
- Have the fabric professionally cleaned whenever large stains or an overall soiled condition occurs.
- Do not use a brush or scrub too vigorously when cleaning fabric as permanent damage may occur to fabric fibers.
For most water-based stains, a clean, absorbent cloth dampened with a detergent solution should be applied to the stain (hot water not recommended).
Oil-based stains may be treated in a similar manner, substituting a volatile solvent-based cleaner instead of detergent.
Always pretest an inconspicuous area of the fabric for colorfastness to the cleaning agent.
Laminate
For routine cleaning wash laminate surfaces using a soft cloth, with a combination of mild detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
For stubborn marks, apply a nonabrasive liquid cleaner with soft cloth soaked in warm water. Rub in the direction of the grain, if applicable, otherwise rub lightly in a circular motion.
Do not use any type of abrasive cleaners which may deface and change the finish.
Painted Metal
For routine cleaning wash metal surfaces with a soft cloth, dampen with detergent and water.
Do not use abrasive, acid, alcohol-based or solvent-based cleaners.
Plastic
For routine cleaning wash plastic surfaces with a soft cloth, using a combination of mild detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not use abrasive kitchen cleaners or solvents.
Tempered Glass
Cleaning
Glass is resistant to mild abrasives, solvents, and acidic or alkaline cleaners. Apply a product such as Windex sparingly to the center of the glass and wipe it outwards to the edges with a soft, lint-free cloth. Once the glass is clean, buff it with a dry cloth.
Stubborn Marks
Grease and adhesive tape stains can be removed from glass with kerosene or naphtha, but stronger solvents such as acetone can also be used without risk. Use these solvents with caution in a well-ventilated area.
Scratch Removal
Glass is normally very resistant to scratching. Once scratched, glass is very laborious and time consuming to restore. In almost all cases, it is preferable to replace the glass.
Plexiglass/Acrylic
Cleaning
Use a commercial plastic cleaner or mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris. When applying cleaner, use a non-abrasive lint-free or microfiber cloth that won’t scratch the surface. All solvents need to be wiped clean with fresh water and blotted dry to reduce water spotting. To prevent damage using solvents, do not use ammonia, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, gasoline, or household cleaners contain abrasives as cleaning solutions and can cause crazing (the development of fine cracks).
Stubborn Marks
Grease stains and traces of self-adhesive backing can be removed from acrylic sheet with kerosene or naphtha. Use these solvents with caution in a well-ventilated area . Stronger solvents are not recommended because they can cause the material to craze and soften.
Scratch Removal
Very shallow scratches can be removed from acrylic sheet with fine abrasives. Pre-polishes for automotive finishes can be used if the scratches are minimal.
